One Year Tap Dance Challenge 2018 – First video tutorial

My Dear Friends,

Today we are starting with One year tap dance Challenge, I´m so glad you are joining me.

TAP DANCE TECHNIQUE

Every week I will use a little different steps and music, so you can practice different techniques and styles.
I also plan to add separate technical videos, including nomenclature. Nomenclature is not fixed in tap dance and you will encounter different names in different countries and schools. I will try to incorporate these nuances into technical videos so you know what names you can expect.

NOTE FOR BEGINNERS

If you are new to us or you are just starting with tap dancing, I recommend to start practicing slowly it´s all about training. You can practice whenever you want and play the video as many times as you need. Regular training will definitely help you.

NOTE FOR ADVANCED TAP DANCERS

For more advanced students I recommend trying the routine faster or starting with your other leg. You can also try to add rotation to the routine.

I´D LOVE TO SEE HOW YOU ARE TRAINING

You can share photos or videos of how or where you train. You can take picture of yourself, your tap dance shoes or take a picture with your friend you are training with 🙂 Choose your favorite social network where you want to share your photos or videos. Maybe you will see yourself in one of my next videos 🙂

I look forward seeing you next week,

Happy Tapping,
Marta

HOW THE ONE YEAR TAP DANCE CHALLENGE CAME ABOUT

One of my students once told me:

“When I feel overwhelmed at work, I get up from my desk, play your video and tap dance. Those little breaks really help me. I do it every time I need a break. After 5 minutes, I feel relaxed and ready to go back to work.”

I loved that idea. I started telling this story to other students, and surprisingly found out that many of them were doing something similar. They tap danced at work during coffee breaks, when they were copying documents, while waiting in a queue or after work with friends, spouses or their children.

For this reason, I came up with the idea to create a one year challenge to help my students take those breaks. You are invited to join the challenge too.

    WHO IS THIS CHALLENGE FOR?

I dedicate this challenge to my beloved students, all of whom are  women I admire and enjoy spending time with. This challenge is also for anyone who loves tap dancing and wants to join us in taking those mini breaks.

    How the challenge works?

Every Thursday for one year, starting 18th of January 2018, I’ll pick a few steps from my Tap Dance Diary and create a new routine.

I know how busy you are, so I will keep them short (about 5 minutes). The good news is that you can play the videos as many times as you want and tap dance whenever it suits you.
